Continuing the “Sense = Experience” theme, this design connects sensorial perception with the geographic environment. References to diverse cultures, history and contemporary institutions emphasize regional atmosphere while micro elements explore random paths into the new and unknown.

The conference theme “Sense = Experience” was developed to encourage designers to think outside the visual and to consider senses other than sight. The bagel is a reference to st. viateur bagel, one of the most acclaimed bagel bakeries in North America, and to the sight, smell, touch, taste experienced by visitors. Combined with references to French language, nature and metropolitan culture, the use of micro/macro elements reinforces the significance of context.
